Since I’ve gotten more serious about blogging, having a home office has become one of my biggest dreams. Slowly (but surely) I have begun collecting some items on my home office wish list. These are 13 Amazon products you need for your home office.

1. Pen:

Obviously. this is one of the products you need to start your home office. You’re going to need something to write with. Personally, I prefer writing in pen. It comes out the perfect darkness and in different colors. I love having pens in different colors because I am one of those people who are obsessed with color coding. I even color code my twin boys from time-to-time. Linked below are some of my favorite brands of sets of pens.

2. Desk:

Another obvious one is that you’re going to need something to work on. I really want to invest in a nice desk that will last a really long time. But since my current living situation is most likely temporary, I’m looking at some cheaper options. Linked below are desks that I’m looking at and considering for my home office.

3. Computer:

This one isn’t as necessary (but kind of is in today’s world) since their are so many alternatives. You could get a tablet or just use a mobile device for most things nowadays. But since I’ve gotten more serious about my blog, a computer or laptop became quite necessary for me. There were just somethings I couldn’t do on my phone or things that having a computer would make more convenient.

So I cracked down and got a laptop (linked in the middle). I didn’t want to break my bank since I knew I wanted to save up for a MacBook Pro so I wanted something a little more budget friendly. Link below are some cheaper options for a computer.

4. Printer:

I really want a printer for my home office so I added it to this list of products you need to start your home office. I know a lot of things can be done digitally, but I think having a printer is still a must have. I going to get a printer because I want to be able to print my own mail postages, printables , documents, photos, and my future novel. Printers may become outdated someday, but it’s not today. I linked below some options that I am considering myself.

5. Office Lamp:

Honestly, having an office lamp is such a nice thing to add to your work desk. It adds texture, possibly color, character, and it’s useful when burning that midnight oil. I’m a total night owl. I do a lot of my work at night, after the kiddos go to bed since it can be hard to get anything done while they’re awake, so having a lamp will really be essential for me to have. Below I linked down different types of lamps so you can plan it out with your own aesthetic and sense of style.

6. Shredder:

This one isn’t as necessary, so it might not be one of the products you need to start your home office. But since I know I’m going to be using printer a lot, it is for me. Plus, having a shredder would really come in handy. It would allow me less trash cans to fill and compact all the paper I shred. It also makes discarding important or confidential information was easier. I don’t need an expensive shredder so I linked below some wallet friendly options.

7. Outlet Power Strip:

Personally, I believe that you can never have enough of these and that’s why it’s one of the products you need to start your home office. I was raised by a firefighter so I’m always cautious of the fire hazard these sometimes cause. So I never try to connect too many plugs into a power strip, and a lot of times bigger technological items (i.e. computer, printer, shredder, T.V., gaming consoles) the plug is wider or covers more surface area so they can’t always fit on one power strip.

I would say having maybe 3 or 4 in a home office might be a good amount to have, but I like to keep a couple spare ones because you just never know when you’ll need more outlets.

8. Office Chair:

I desperately want an office chair. The chair I have right now is not cutting it and my back is suffering because of it. That’s why a good office chair is one of the bigger products you need to start your home office. However, I’ve been looking on Amazon for some selections (linked possible options below) but I’m not a huge fan of the selections they have.

Plus, I feel like I’m going to have to test out the chair in person, you know? Get a good feel for it, make sure it’s comfortable, and that it’ll be worth any money I out into it. I really want a good chair with lumbar support and a real padded butt cushion, but not too bulky. I don’t know. I’m still looking around. If you know any good places, comment down below.

9. Organizer:

I know 100% that I am going to need a ton of organizers. As one of the products you need to start your home office, organizers are pretty important. I’m sort of a hoarder when it comes to important documents, receipts, online orders, and so on. It’s okay though because I’m quite good at decluttering and making sure I do it regularly.

I know, I know, how can I be a hoarder and good at decluttering? I don’t know. I guess I just minimize how much I hoard? Like I know when to declutter before it starts to get overwhelming but, I always have to wait for it to get to that point before I can bring myself to get rid of stuff.

Does that make sense? Anyway, I linked below some organizers that I am stuck between. I seriously can’t pick. I love how simple their designed and I love all the compartments they have. Comment which one you like best. I really want to know.

10. Calendar:

I love calendars, so I know you this is one of the products you need to start your home office. I have like 3 different calendar apps and a planner that I use. I always need to know what I have planned for the day, what content I have scheduled, if I have a events coming up. I’m one of those people who needs to know everything. I hate it, it drive me (and those around me) crazy. My Alexa Show even has a routine to tell me what’s on my calendar for the day, and displays it on the screen.

I’m obsessed with scheduling and keeping a calendar (I’ve mentioned this in another blog). I’ve linked some options I’ve been looking at below and I think I might get all three to be honest. I think the white board would be great on the wall behind my desk, the big one on my actual desk, and the tiny flippy inspirational one facing me on the corner of my desk. I could have different things on each calendar or sync them up. I haven’t quite decided exactly what I’m going to do, but I know I’d find use for all these calendars.

11. To-Do Lists:

As obsessed as I am with calendars, I am also just as obsessed with To-Do Lists. Hence, why it’s one of the products you need to start your home office. I can’t get anything done if I don’t write it down on my to-do list. I don’t know why I’m like this, but it’s like once it’s written it must be done. Downside, if I don’t write it down, I’ll forget and it won’t get done.

So if you’re like me, I linked below some really great options. I like really detailed to-do list so that I can add as much detail about my day as I can, but I also linked a more simpler option (middle link).

12. Shelving:

I think shelving is so good to have as one of the products you need to start your home office. Not only would it be a great way to utilize space, you can also have it as a place to be display décor, and store items. I’ve linked a larger shelf (on the right). But I think for my own office, I’m only going to get some small shelves. I don’t want to have go much surface area for me to hoard things. So the less space might be better for me in this case. The first two links below are my top choices for shelving.

13. Inspirationale Décor:

One of the last products you need to start your home office is inspirational décor. This will make you home office feel homey, inspiring, motivating, and more personalized. I linked some of my favorite choices below. The cactus with inspirational quotes is so perfect and cute. Their fake, which works great for me since I’m not much of a green thumb. I know I also am going to try and frame some inspirational quotes to keep me motivated and positive while working. I think those are just perfect things to fill a home office with.

Those are the 13 Amazon products you need to start your at home office. I’ve got most of the things on this list, but there are still some items I’m saving up for or we just don’t have the room yet. So, temporarily, my home office is but a dream, a dream slowly becoming a reality.
