A Poem: I’m Exhausted

Exhausted, lying in bed.

I’m exhausted.

My bones are heavy as if they were made of cement.

My head thundering as if there are nothing but storm clouds drifting in it’s place.

In my blood,

there are needles.

Pricking every surface beneath my skin,

As it’s river rushes throughout my entire body.

My flesh is boiling,

And waterfalls of fire cascade from my eyes with every blink.

I’m exhausted.

But there’s no rest for the wicked,

No reprieve in sight.

I don’t deserve it anyway.

I can’t do anything right.

I’m exhausted.
