5 Methods To Feel Better With Your Life:
Transforming My Life
About a year ago, I decided that I was not very happy with where I was with myself and my life. I was (still am sometimes) angry, frustrated, and just overall not very happy. It was literally killing me. I would be sick all the time, my depression and anxiety were awful, and I was just going through a lot. It was so overwhelming and isolating; I just didn’t want to feel this way anymore. That’s when I decided it was time for me to start changing. I needed to evolve and grow past this, or at least learn how to cope and deal with life better.
So if any of that resonates with you, or you’re just tired of feeling like you’re not in a good place in life, follow these five methods to feel better with your life. Practicing these habits have made my life so much more breathable, lighter, and all around more contentious. I know if you follow these methods, you will feel better with your life too.
The first thing I decided to do to start to feel better about my life was to see a therapist. I have done this a few times before, but this is the first time that it has been helpful. So if you’re thinking about seeing a therapist for the first time to feel better with your life, just know it may take a while before you find one that is a fit for you. But that doesn’t mean give up or don’t try, because when you find a therapist that is a fit for you, the process of healing will be much easier on you.
Seeing someone to talk about my childhood trauma and even more recent traumas have been so beneficial for my mental health and feeling better about my life. I have new coping mechanisms and perspectives that help me let go of things from my past and focus more on my present life. Not to mention, just having someone to talk to and a safe place to release all my oppressed feelings and thoughts has incredibly been freeing. I will always advocate for therapy whether you have mental health problems or not because it really is just a way to feel better with your life.
This method was harder to get into just because it involves quieting your mind and my mind is usually a whirlwind of thoughts. But after meditating daily for a week, it got a lot easier and it makes me feel so relaxed and at ease. It’s all about slowing down and just being present in the moment and deep breathing. Now I meditate every morning when I wake up and every night before bed.
After I meditatate in the mornings, I feel like I have more energy and the mindset to take on the say. At night before bed, meditating allows me to relax my body and quiet my mind so that I can fall asleep more easily. It’s also given me the chance to practice being mindful and use breath work to calm my anxiety and relieve some of my depression. There are free guided meditations available everywhere, I use an app called Aura, but just taking some time to focus on taking deep breaths is meditation. Meditation has helped me and I know it’ll help you feel better with your life.
I can honestly say that journaling is almost as therapeutic as actually therapy. I don’t do it everyday like I do with meditation, but anytime I feel overwhelmed or just feel like I need to get somethings off my chest, I just write it all down. I shared on my Instagram the beautiful vintage journal and fountain pen that my husband got me, and I specifically use this journal only for my thoughts and feelings. You don’t need like a special journal or anything, but it helps to have something meaningful to write in that will help motivate you to fill those pages.
I also have other journals for my manifestations and intention settings, astrology, tarot readings, and a lot more. I try to journal anything and everything in my life. It helps me to organize my thoughts and just reflect on all the events that have transpired in my life. It really has helped me appreciate my life more so I know it will help you feel better with your own life as well.
I’m still pretty new to manifestation, but it has already been so helpful with making me feel better about my life. It helps me organize my goals and dreams, gives me some direction in life, and just gives me something to look forward to in life. Instead of obsessing about the things that I want, I write it all down in my manifestation journal and let it go. I still think about it here and there, but I’m not stressing about it. It helps me stay more focused in the present moment and helps motivate me forward.
There are many different ways to practice manifestation, but I use scripting. Scripting is essentially journaling in the present tense as if all your goals and aspirations have already happened. As you guys know, I love writing so this was definitely something that I wanted to start implementing daily. Usually after I meditate, that is when I practice manifestation. It’s definitely a personal exercise for me so I don’t think I’ll be sharing what I write in there.
This method is the #1 method that I recommend doing to feel better with your life. I do this every morning and night as well, and it is has probably made the biggest difference out of them all. I have been practicing gratitude for a while now, and I can already see and feel my energy changing. I don’t focus on the negatives as much anymore and it highlights the better parts of my days. When I catch myself feeling happy or grateful about something that happened, I’ll think, “ooh, I should write that down later” and then I will at the end of the day when I take the time to reflect.
Even on harder days, practicing gratitude forces me to appreciate even the littlest things. I have noticed that it is so easy for me to be feel better about myself and my life because there is always something to appreciate about my day. I’m definitely going to get my kids into practicing gratitude as well when they get older. I think you, and really everyone, can benefit from practicing gratitude to feel better with your life.
These are the main five methods that I practice everyday to keep a happier and healthier mindset. My life has transformed for the better, but not actually if that makes sense. It’s really me changing my perspective to view my life better. So I guess you could say that by practicing ways to feel better with your life, you are also evolving into your better self. And that’s the real goal.
